Terms of Service
Last updated: July 20, 2026
Plain-language terms — by creating an account or using Budling, you agree to these. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your data.
Who operates Budling
Budling is operated by a registered sole proprietor (individual entrepreneur) based in Ukraine. Budling Plus is sold through Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, which acts as the seller of record for your purchase. You can reach us via the contact page.
The service
Budling is an English-learning app: flashcard sets, spaced-repetition study modes, a pixel-pet companion, live study sessions, and an optional Telegram bot integration. All core studying — flashcards, spaced repetition, and games — is free to use, forever. Budling Plus is an optional paid subscription that unlocks AI-powered features such as AI-generated card definitions; the free tier stays fully usable without it.
Your account
You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You must be old enough to legally consent to these terms in your country (generally 13+, or the age of digital consent where you live). One account per person — don't share credentials or create multiple accounts to bypass usage limits.
Content you create
You own the flashcard sets and cards you create. By marking a set public, you grant other users the right to view and study from it. Don't upload content that infringes someone else's copyright, is illegal, or is intentionally offensive or abusive.
We may remove public content that violates these terms, and may suspend accounts that repeatedly do so.
Acceptable use
Don't attempt to abuse rate limits, scrape the app at scale, reverse engineer the pixel-pet rendering for unrelated commercial use, or use automation to impersonate real study activity for the pet-evolution system. Live study sessions (real-time multiplayer) are meant for genuine study partners — don't use them to harass other users.
Availability
Budling is provided "as is." We aim for high uptime but don't guarantee the service will always be available, error-free, or that your data will never be lost — though we do take backups. Features may change or be removed as the product evolves.
Billing and refunds
Budling Plus is a recurring subscription (billed monthly or yearly). Payments are processed by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record — Paddle handles billing, invoicing, and any applicable sales tax or VAT, and appears as the seller on your statement.
You can cancel anytime from Settings → Billing; your Plus access continues until the end of the billing period you've already paid for. See our Refund Policy for how refunds work.
Termination
You can delete your account at any time, yourself, from Settings → Danger Zone. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, including abuse, harassment of other users, or attempts to compromise the service. Public sets can also be reported by other users for review — repeated violations may result in the set being removed or the account suspended.
Changes to these terms
We'll update this page and the date above if these terms change. Continuing to use Budling after a change means you accept the updated terms.
