Budling Got Faster: Performance & Reliability Fixes (July 2026)

Following up on our last update, this one's mostly under the hood: pages load faster, a handful of annoying bugs are gone, and 4 in a Row got some polish.

Faster across the board

Dashboard, login, grammar pages, and the landing page all got meaningfully quicker — less time staring at a half-loaded screen, especially on mobile. We also chased down several layout-shift bugs where content would visibly jump around while a page finished loading, most noticeably the pet avatar on public profile pages. What you see on first paint now stays put.

Bugs squashed

• Live sessions occasionally got stuck showing "waiting for student" even after both people joined — fixed, so live study sessions start reliably now.
• Bookmarking a grammar topic right after opening the page could silently un-bookmark it if you clicked too fast. Fixed.
• Browser tab titles no longer show "Budling" twice.
• A handful of security hardening fixes shipped across public pages.

4 in a Row polish

The live word game we introduced last update got a round of polish: clearer cell marks, a fixed scoreboard layout, and a proper game-over screen with your final score and a rematch option.
